Rick has been the chief designer and principal innovator of Amaryllis since 1989 - its inaugural year. He took over the reins of the company in 2002, having spearheaded its transformation from a simple flower shop in a hotel basement to one of the leading special event companies in the mid-Atlantic region.

Rick is known for his creativity, attention to detail and use of unique product. He has won multiple awards for his work and has been featured in numerous publications, including Town & Country, Victoria, Washingtonian, Southern Accents, Engaged Magazine, Washingtonian Bride & Groom, Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style and Martha Stewart Weddings.

Amaryllis was recently listed as one of the Top Wedding Florists in the Nation by Martha Stewart.

Rick in his spare time is an avid gardener, specializing in growing dahlias and raising Heritage Breed Waterfowl.
