Mandy Benoit is the proud owner of Trillium Floral Designs, a full service flower shop located in Canada's Capital. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Mandy is known for her dark aesthetic and "rules are meant to be broken" mentality. She took over the family business in 2020, shortly after the pandemic started, and has been making her mark on it ever since. Her background in multimedia and design has contributed to her creativity and attention to detail. Some of her more well-known clientele includes Oprah, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey and John Mellencamp. She is a small business advocate being a member of 3 business groups in her area. Aside from designing with anything weird she can get her hands on, she enjoys writing whenever she can, having written a few articles for Canadian Florist magazine and guest blog posts for local wedding industry experts. She is also currently developing a course for florists on how to hire awesome employees! Mandy is looking forward to another 20 years of watching the industry continue its expansion of sustainability practices, pushing the limits and a focus on individuality.

We’re in the creative business, when hiring make sure your advertisement reflects the fun side and creative side of our industry.
It’s great to take the time to do evaluations. It’s not criticism, but an opportunity for positive input and feedback for both sides.
Go with your gut. It’s usually not wrong.
If you don’t vibe with the other person during an interview, listen to those red flags and act accordingly.
