Show Notes
Jennie is one of the OG Farmer Florist and the difference she continues to make among flower farmers is nothing short than a legacy.
No-till is defined as little to no disturbance of the soil as you grow. Like with my Zinnias where I cut the plant down to the ground level leaving the roots in the ground.
For larger farms and properties, perennials are a great way to transition your efforts into no-till methods.
Wildlife can help carry the load for insect pressure. Creating habitats for wildlife by building homes, planting shrubs, and providing water sources is like put out the welcome mat for all kinds of animals that can help.
This may be a bit controversial, but Jennie believes that we should stop spraying pesticides, including the organic sprays. They all leave a bad taste in the animals that can come to our aid.
I have to admit, I’m still a bit more curious about Korean Natural Farming practices. It seems like a very different approach, but worth looking into.
Weeds are natures band-aides. They can tell us a lot about what’s happening in the soil.
And lastly, we all need to make sure we’re getting enough sleep. Our bodies need time to recover from everything we put them through.
